1965 14' travel trailer brakes

Just purchased this unit. It has brakes but can some one tell me what kind, how they are activated?

If I need some type of controller I need to be looking in to one.

You need a controller to operate the brakes on the trailer. The brakes are probably standard 10" and they work by energizing a magnet that pushing out the shoes. Depending on how old it has been sitting and other things can happen the brakes could be hit(shoes cracked or magnet not workin). You can buy a new set with backing plates for around $45 each. A controller will run around $100 give or take a few.
