Just curious how much structure is required to hold a modern roof air type of an air conditioner? My 1964 Avalair has electric vents in the roof, but no a/c and in Oklahoma....you gotta have a/c.
Due to a nasty divorce (Previous Owner), the rear window had a cinder block tossed through it. I thought about adding a window unit back tere with some creative sheetmetal reconstruction.
Any ideas?

Put a window a/c in and used alluminum strips to make it look better, tho it was a lot of work. Attachments:

Root-
I am going to toss this up in the AC section so it doesn't get lost in the SOB section.
Anyway... they took out it out on trailer. That sucks. There are a few solutions in this section.
The roof does need additional support but that amount of support depends on the weight of the AC unit. I think you would have to find specs on each unit before buying.

I put a roof air on my 71 loflyte,as far as extra bracing i reinforced every rib added some so that there was no more than 16" between them, and then added to 2 rows of purlins. It seems plenty strong but if you are still worried you could add a piece of steel angle on the ones around the ac.
