Just bought a 56 Shasta 1500..I have questions

I just bought a 56 Shasta, and need to make a few repairs. I have searched this site for some clues, but have not completed my mission. Trying to figure out what was missing from my trailer. Is there a magazine rack in this year? Did the bed slide back into a couch or just remain stationary? was there a shelf in the rear somewhere around the bed? What is the 1/2 round cutout on the cabinet over the sink for? Did the seating area have sliding cabinets underneath them? Mine came with an awning for the front window, but not sure that it is part of the trailer or an add on. Was there a screen door with this model? Couldn't tell from the flyer on here, but is the hood vent thing over the stove original?

At some point I am going to have to peel back the aluminum and take a peak at the wood underneath, however the people who owned it previously have made some repairs, but still some damage from water, especially on the cabinets where the water has leaked down. How do I fix that? And lastly where do I find replacements for the curved aluminum drip things? There is a tiny vent by the stove that is missing the cover and the aluminum drip thing.

There was not a magazine rack as far as I can tell. The back bed was/is stationary and just under full size. There is an over bed canvass sling bed (suspended on two poles) that can hold a child or luggage. As for the half round cut out, I'm not sure, mine has one and I've been wondering too (maybe for a cooler spout?). Mine didn't have a front window awning, but does have a scree door, no vent over the stove.

I would suspect you will find lots of rot and need to take off the skin and do a full repair. If your cabinets are damaged....then there's definitely rot in the framing. My advice, go ahead and take of the skin and work your way in....it's way easier. The drip rails are pretty easy to find, though you may have strange ones on the bottom (again how about a few pics).
