If there is already a louvered door behind the fridge, why is there also a roof vent?
Is this specific to propane/electric models?
I don't have the orginal fridge so I'm using a modern electric model that is very close to the same size.
I'd like to eliminate and seal off the roof vent but want to make sure there's no bad side effects to that~

If you replaced the fridge with a standard electric model then you don't need the roof vent. It was there to vent the propane burner and let critters in.

"and to let critters in"
LOL.. One of the main reasons (besides the rot and leak there) that I want to eliminate it~!
Thanks.. I was pretty sure I could close it off but wanted to be sure there wasn't something I was overlooking~

I am going to install a 2 way Dometic in my 63 Airflyte, it has the roof vent already but no bottom access door. I hate to cut in a new door right in the middle of the Z. Has anyone ever done any other type of bottom venting that allows proper operation of the fridge? Maybe the fridge on a slide for access and a ducted floor vent? Not sure.
