I was wondering what people are doing as far as a car port or roof over their camper while it is not in use or being remodeled?
I was going to try and get it in my garrage, but it will not fit without removing the wheels, axles, springs, and all roof vents, plus I need my garage space for other things.
So I am wanting to build a carport beside the house, so it will always have a home out of the weather.
anyone know of a cost effective (cheap) setup? preferebly with walls so I can have heat in the winter to work on it?
I built a shop at my moms a few years ago using 2x4's, concrete floor and rainbow metal for the roof/sides (cheapo unpainted tin that varies in color) blemished steel.
but the prices of prefab stuff is cheaper now, so what do you have?

This is something I've pondered for a long time. We have space on one side of our house (opposite of our driveway/garage) that I'm clearing in hopes to store one of the trailers there. Because we can't build a permanant structure such as a lean to or carport we would have to go with some sort of portable unit. The plan is to either use gravel or pavers and then buy one of these: www.portablegaragedepot.com/index.cfm?sku=SZ081208R&catid=999999I have to research more and find one that will handle snow loads as we get quite a bit of snow here. Though I will be out brushing it off like I did the Astroflyte last winter.

I finished my Shasta Shed last week. I already had the gravel parking pad and a woodshed next to it, so all I needed was the roof framing and the metal roofing. I spent $350 for that, the cedar posts were free. It is 9ft high x 11ft wide x 16ft long and that's a snug fit. If you build one, do yourself a favor and don't get the cheapo corrugated panels; they crush too easily and are razor sharp.

I found 8w x 12h carport with steel roof at Menards. Prices started at about $759. But I have to go back and price them out. I don't see that size width on their website though. I'm probably going to end up buying one with a steel roof and we have to have one that is portable per our township rules so building one isn't an option.
