Has anyone ever used Eternabond double sided micro sealent putty tape on their drip rail instead of byutal putty tape? I like the fact that is isn't supposed to dry out so maybe I won't have to take the rail off again in 5 years.
Does any one have any experience with the eternabond product line?
Thanks.

All I can say is that some of my 50 year plus trailers still have soft putty, even on the edge trim...
I'm thinking that you won't have to replace any putty after 5 years. I have found double sided tape (not sure of the brand) on a roof vent and wasn't impressed with the seal or durability.

I'm a newbie and have yet to get started. I've seen several references to the "drip rail" - what and where is it?

The drip rail is the aluminum edge trim all around the edge of the trailer. It's shaped such that the rain from the roof drips in the rail and down to the ground. It's also called J-channel by some people.

Yes, I call it edge trim. I would think J channel or rail is the most correct. We need a glossary!

A glossary is a fabulous idea! With photos. I remember having to call everything a thing-a-mujig or that sticky stuff that comes in a roll.

I really think the glossary would be cool! Brian? I thought about that. Just haven't done it yet. You want to tackle that Vikx and I'll be sure lend a hand. Brian

After I did some more investigating, I learned that the eternabond has almost no thickness. I think that would be a bad move considering the amount of "texture" (for lack of a better word) my siding has.
Putty tape it is!

Gee, we thought "thing-a-ma-jig" WAS a technical term!
