This may be sacrilege, but has anyone ever tried to make their Shasta into a woody, reskinning with wood? I searched for Woody on the threads but didn't find anything.

never seen one, i have seen one airbrush painted like a woody in a cowboy them, very professional job and looked great for what it was.
on a different note, that would add a lot of weight to the camper.

Yeah, I thought about the weight. Probably won't do it but it would be cool to see one done.

I've seen the paint scheme approach but not a true re-skin. Dayton Taylor has a retro vintage camper that he offers on his vintagetrailercrazy web site that has the woody look...very cool...if you are looking for an actual camper to model a re-skin after. I think one could be converted if the outside was layered with a thin quality marine grade ply, then stained and sealed with quality poly...have a look at Taylor's offering...and then decide...could be a fun project for a small camper that has skin so damaged that it will need to be replaced anyway...I think it could be done without adding a lot of weight to a small camper. The raised wood strip accents need not be heavy and bulky, but you might need to have some cabinet making skills to do the whole project justice.
