I have a `61 SC and I'm placing an order with VTS. This is the first of many basic questions I'll be asking Be gentle with me. The Fan-Tastic fan...what options do I want? Should I go with the 5000? 6000? What kinda lid and what the heck is garnish type? I'm pretty sure I have a "curved ceiling" but I wanna make sure before I place my order that I'm asking for the right one. Thanks Tanya

you know they are 12 volt right? I got the one with three speeds that is reversible to blow in or out. go here for a detailed description of the different fans and what they do. www.fantasticvent.com/products/products.htmland as much as I love VTS, places like adventure RV have them for 20.00 less. if you shop around deals can be found. and ebay has the 4000 for $116.99 and 21.00 shipping

Thanks so much for your response. Don't assume I know anything I'm on the east coast of Canada so I'm not sure that we have the same resources that you do in the US. I'll check out your links. Tanya

I got the one that has the manual reverse and it works great, the 4000 R, I have a 1956, the are where the fan goes isn't really curved so no worries on that score.. Don't really need to go with the thermostat and auto controls....seems like overkill in a smallish trailer.
I rewired my whole trailer so that all the lights operate on 12v and then I use the battery most of the time cause we like to boondock. No need to pay for pricey RV parks!

Thanks so much for the advice. I think I'll be going with the 4000. I'm really starting out here with NO KNOWLEDGE about electrical systems and...well...a lot of what I'm reading here I don't understand yet. I'll be asking a lot of questions.
Thanks again
Tanya

You are exactly where I was 8 months ago....it's a steep learning curve but stick with it and you'll get there with everyone's help.

I just checked the price for the Fantastic Fan at my local RV place...$341.00 for the 4000 model!!! and for 20' of 3/4" Butyl tape...$31.00!!!!!!
Canadian dollars are just about on par with US these days, so that's f****n' NUTS!!!
So much for shopping local.
