OMG, the Forester is a PIT! Seriously, not sure what the heck they did to it but we got totally and completely ripped off ... but it's love so what can I say huh?
Anyway, rewiring the tail lights and we removed the horizontal ones and found they were glued on ... underneath you can see a big round hole where they took off the original tail lights and just screwed a square of metal (badly because there are openings in there everywhere) to sorta kinda cover it.
Obviously we're gonna have to remove the glue somehow ... any ideas? We can't sand for fear of going through the aluminum and it's hardened so we can't use a putty knife to remove it either.
Does anyone know of a good glue disolver?
What a piece of crap this trailer is ... hopefully we can rebuild!

I've never tried to remove glue nor do I know about any glue dissolvers but I can offer up a suggestion anyway...I found that my paint stripper totally softened old caulk making it easier to peel and scrape off, perhaps it could help. I'm sure it won't be long before someone else chimes in with experienced advice.

Mary you now I responded to this on the LOOG FB site, but I would try acetone. The citristip doesn't sound like a bad idea either. A flat scraper blade on the multi tool might also be of help.

I would use a methylene chloride based stripper. It's a stronger paint stripper. Just make sure you follow all the precautions listed on the can. It's strong stuff.
