Hi there. Jill in GA here with a question. The skin on the bottom front and rear has some dings and some tears in it. Would it be better to replace or repair? I tried to post a picture but I was not allowed to? Thanks for your opinions!

if you could not post a pic it is probably because the pic is to big, (to many pixels)
and you have to use a link to a photo sharing website like photobucket, then link to it (read the "how to" posted here for help)
I open the pic with microsoft paint click edit then you can re-size it, I choose 35% x 35% and it fits here.
post that, aluminum is hard to repair if it is broken, you could remove it, find someone who can weld aluminum weld it for you, then repaint it and put it back on,
but I'm not sure how that would work, aluminum will shrink/stretch from hot and cold causing ripples or waves where it got hot I would think. but for all that work and $$$ you might be better off just to find someone with an aluminum brake that can put the folds in it and just start with a new piece and have the 6 inch breaks put in it.
FYI I have the same problem with mine.

Sometimes, you can add a piece of skin at the bottom: Attachments:

Our compact skin had quite a few rips and a major dents on the bottom at the back. We were unable to find someone to fix it or to make us new skin. We decided that we weren't going to be able to do anything but repair it ourselves as best as we could and live with the aging scars just like people have to. Anyway, our attempts to hammer out the dents and use patches, both from the inside of the skin, actually turned out pretty well, especially once the trailer was painted. It worked for us because we weren't trying to make the trailer look brand new, we appreciate her battle scars. If this is a route you feel you can live with then pm me and I can send more detailed info and pix for you to make your decision. Also, since we're both in GA perhaps you're close enough to look at ours in person so you can make your decision. Tell us where you are in GA and where you found your pretty compact. We had to drive to KY for ours! robin
