for the life of me, i cant remember who it is, but one of the members on here (or airstream forum) makes and sells awnings. someone will read this and know exactly who it is.
my wife is in the process of making us a new "matching" awning..... because im told "it has to match" ours is based on the original that came with our trailer

Jason, I make custom awnings to fit vintage trailers. What I've done in the past is people buy their awning fabric and have it shipped to me (fabricguru.com is a fabulous place to find outdoor fabric for a good price. Outdoor fabric works well if you won't be leaving the awning out in the elements for long periods at a time. If you do plan this, then sunbrella material is recommended. I make the awning based on your size requirements and other aesthetics. My sewing fee is $150.00. I will send you a pm with more information. Diane

I am having the worst time finding red and white stripes in Sunbrella. Our 64 Oasis is red and white and that would look best. What sort of fabric do I look for? Is it acrylic or canvas or?? I know there are different types of outdoor fabric; then there's marine...Thanks for any advice.

Vikx, I have used outdoor fabric, acrylic/polyester. Again, this is not for continuous outdoor use but works great for those of us that use our awnings during the summer for weekend jaunts. Here is some good looking red and white stripe at fabricguru.com: www.fabricguru.com/p-fabric-by-the-yard/american-red-and-off-whiteOrder it fast, though. They don't stay in stock very long at this price.

My trailer is white with a red and orange stripes. I am thinking something to match it since the whole thing is going to be repainted in the future to original color scheme again.

There are a couple on this site that do awnings such as Kristi in Ga. and Marti in Ca. I ordered mine from Marti since I wanted red and white stripe and she had it. She had many colors included blends and not just a solid stripe. It is sunbrella material. I ordered mine this time last year and it was $ 219.00 total that included shipping to North Carolina. Her ph # is 530-891-5120. Her email is domy@sbcglobal.net You can go to ebay and type in vintage awnings and both of them have items for sale there and there may be others also. Marti will do custom sizes if a standard 8x10 will not work. Brent Attachments:
