Has anyone taken the 4 roof panels apart on a compact? I thought that would be the easy way to remove the roof....NOT! I cant get them apart.

the wood inside i assume you mean? there is no easy way, the aluminum cross beams (this is for our 70 model) are notched on each side and the paneling slides into it. they are essentially "locked" into place when the trailer was assembled. we pulled all of ours and replaced it all with birch. its like a puzzle getting it all back in from the inside with the skin on but it can be done

No I mean the outside skins. There are four attached that I cant get apart. I have been able to ge all the other skin pannels off. Mine is a 61 I think and it doesn't have any aluminum in the framing, its all wood

I don't know on a 61 compact but on my 69 compact the roof panel goes from the top of the front window to the top of the rear window. It is one piece in a since but is several sections crimped together to keep from leaking and I don't see anyway to take apart if yours is like this.

They are factory crimped seams. Try not to take them apart! Instead, straighten the bent edge and roll the roof to get it off the trailer.
It is also possible to float the roof side to side, if only the edges need to be repaired. If the rafters/ceiling panels are bad, then the roofing has to come off.
