Has anyone given any thought to nickel plating? I know it will not be as shiny as chrome, but it still looks really nice. The thing with nickel plating is you can do it yourself at home, with all the stuff you need costing under 50.00.

Maybe a few more coats, and really buff it? Who knows?? I think its worth a try... I have everything I need except for the main ingredient ;D I figure its worth a try.. When I get some nickel oxide I will report back.. hopefully it will be decent enough.. I do think the lighting in the videos wasn't the greatest, so it may actually look better than pictured..

Hello, that is an interesting question. Chrome plating is done by preparing significant amounts of sulfuric acid unto large beaker with two electrodes submerged. This in turn will hold wiring connected to power source or battery serving as anode and cathode. The chemical process transfers the coating to the metal to be plated.
