There was one area of the Shasta that was in really rough shape.. Numerous holes drilled through, concave, a big tear, very very ugly.. I at first thought I would add bondo and sand down.. That was a mistake. I hadnt used it before, and I soon realized it was going to look crappy at best. I decided to remove all the bad aluminum, and replace. I had a whole roll of thin aluminum flashing, so what I did was cut some pine pieces, about the same curve and the same height as each section. I glued and clamped each piece, and then cut pieces of the thin aluminum and used contact adhesive to attach. I need to smooth out the transitions, and put a bead of silicone ate the junctures... Not perfect, but way way better!

I think it will look fine! Don't use silicone at the seams, paint won't stick.... Gutter seal would be better. Thanks for the great pictures.
