Ok this weekend proved to be a lot more work than I planned! I started painting the trailer, I knew I wouldn't have enough paint to get it all done but you can start to see the it coming together. I painted the "Z" stripe and will tape it off to get the correct 2" size. I am using color called Colonial Cream, it's a factory 1957 Chevy Color. In other news, I am calling the interior DONE! I still have to install a few catches but my wife got the last 3 cushions done And folded down

Schweetcruisers, I love reading through your blog! I have a question regarding your use of Prep and Etch for the surface rust on your trailer frame. Did you do anything before applying the stuff? Or did you apply it and then leave it on overnight. I'd love to know the directions you used. Thanks! My husband doesn't see any obvious cracks.

I bought a cheap hand spray bottle and sprayed the frame, I let it soak for 24hrs, then the next day I hosed it off. What you really need to know is 1)Wear a tyvek suit and gloves and face shield, it burns really bad. 2)It will discolor any wood it comes in contact with, it will turn it black. 3)It doesn't remove any rust, it converts rust to a paintable surface. 4)I recommend coating the frame with POR-15 rust encapsulating paint.

Schweet, How did you do your wheel wells...are you you doing trim after paint (couldn't tell if there was a trim piece there). I just did mine with aluminum trim what a pita for sure. That stuff doesn't bend well.

That stuff doesn't bend well. I've been putting that off for the last thing, I've had the extrusion since December and been dreading bending it. I plan the leave it raw aluminum, think I am going start tackling that this weekend.

Just cannot say enough about the job you did here. It is hard to believe it is the same one that followed you home on the extension hitch. "Amen" to the "there are not enough superlatives". GREAT job, my friend.

That looks so good, I'd almost be afraid to tow it! You're going to get a lot of lookers on the road and at the campgrounds, better prepare a monologue.

Well done Mine didn't have a rock guard, I built mine, it was pretty easy. Every pane of glass on the original trailer was either broken or chipped.

From one of your earliesst posts on this project...
"So the plan is to basically combine the Astrodome and Airflyte, but make it look like something Shasta could have built."
And you have certainly succeeded!
