I noticed my 61 airflyte does not have a step, but it needs one (grandbabies).
my 59 deluxe has a fold up step built onto it, I was just going to take it off and put it on my airflyte, but that will not work, the frame pieces are wider apart on the airflyte,
one could be modified with an added frame piece, anyone done this? I am seriously considering it.

out compact has no substructure to attach a step, looked into that. that being said i have seen compacts with it so it can be done. My guess is that if you welded or bolted steel angle or flat bat between members that you could then bolt a modified step to t hat???

Neither of our recently purchased trailers have a step. We'd like to have one on the 69 Compact as my daughter has young children who need to get in and out. Obviously a portable step is an option but I was curious about adding a step.
I saw one on one of the trailer supply sites but Offspringin are you saying it won't work in the Compact?

it will work, but you would need to weld some C channel underneath to the frame to mount it to.
very simple but you need a welder, or you might be able to bolt it on with some ingenuity.
Vintage trailer supply sells 2 styles, I plan on adding one to my airflyte, I got 4 grandbabies now that take little steps.
