Ok, so we are deep into the demo phase and here is what we have found and we are confused.... The mirror is dated May 4 61 and the sink is dated April 61 and the title we found says 63 Shasta Vin# V11764 but the tongue says V-7904 is all we could read. We are quite confused, lol

well sounds like you have 61, but for legal and title purposes you are the proud owner of a 63 Shasta.
someone down the road probably found a camper with no title, then bought a title from someone who totaled out their camper, lost it in a fire or bought a title from a scrap yard (this use to be really common with really old cars) since there were not vin #'s in several locations. although it is not legal.

Wondering if we should try to apply for lost title to make it legal or just use what we have? Not sure what kind of hassle it would be to apply for lost title. Funny, I wanted a 62' but got a 61' impostor as a 63', lol

their are lots of issues with applying for a lost title, I had to do it for a 93 Honda civic, or more correctly I had to have the last person who officially licenses the car do it (luckily I was able to back track who had owned it since they were all local). it had to be applied for by them, and it came in the mail to THEM in THEIR name. then they had to sign it over to me, then I had to license it and get a new title in my name. lucky for me they were honest, because they could have tried to keep the car. I would have had to take them to court etc.
I believe their is a way to file for one if no one has licensed it in several years to get one in your name, not sure what all is involved in that, but it sounds like it could bring lots of issues with it.

So, do you think if we ever went to sell it that the title we have would be an issue for potential buyer? NOT that I could ever see us selling it

The V7904 on the tongue is the correct VIN for your Shasta and it is a 61'. However, the V11764 is for a 62'.

The letters state where the Shasta was manufactured. V=Indiana, S=South Carolina, P=Pennsylvania C/D/E/F/G=California, W (4W)=Washington
I get mixed messages about the numbers in the VIN's, but I believe that the numbers are the amount of Shasta's built to date, at the time the VIN was given to that Shasta at that particular manufacturing plant.

Well we just got our first referbish job, we "think" its a 1964 Shasta,at least thats what the guy we bought it from said. here is what was on the tongue.
64m164413 and has a stamp Atwood in rockwood,IL the 3rd letter/diget is either a M or 11 or N hard to tell the others is easy to read. if anyone can help us figure out what we have it would help, also was there any other tags on the camper that may ID it? Our last camper the sticker was still inside the cabnet door but this one has been redone before and not much remains factory im afraid.
thanks Tom and Angi Ga

Hey Tom and Angi,
That is a strange VIN. Do you have a picture that you could post of your trailer? It might help identifying what you have.
All Shasta's VIN's start of with a letter, with the only exception being from Washington, some of their VIN's started with the number 4 followed by the letter W.
Look forward to seeing what you have.

Tom and Angi, can look on the back of mirror or under sink for date if it's a Shasta.

Does anyone have any info on 1947 Adkins Nature Cruisers? I can't find any online. I am wondering about how many were made so I know my chances on finding any original parts. New to this, appreciate any help I can get. Thanks, Tina

I just bought what they say is a 1970 Shasta. No paperwork. The # I found on the side of the tongue was AOPO12468, I don't see anything like that number here o.O Found a # on an old Florida sticker, that had R-16894, which looks closer, but I see there are no "R's". See no dates on bottom of sink.

Hey Jodi,
Got you down as a 1970 Shasta, which was built in Pennsylvania, based on the other VIN's that begin with A0. What model do you have?
