Someone asked me recently about my LED lighting in my camper and for the life of me I can't remember who asked... so I thought I would post some info. I recently purchased a new "bulb" for my dome light and I have to say it really looks fantastic. I purchased from Superbrightleds.com. G4-WWHP10-DAC : This is the light itself, it is a warm white bulb that produces beautiful light. In order to fit this into the socket you will need an adapter base. This converts the g4 plug in the familiar 12v automotive style base. $14.94 The base conversion part is : G4BP-BA15S $2.95 Shipping was $2.99 The g4 connection is also used on the very small dome light offered by VTS, I have that light in my loo (bathroom) so I bought two of these. They are not cheep, but they use next to no power and look fantastic with minimal heat. If you want to go green, these are a great choice. Attachments:

neat! I am working on some LED running lights soon, I just ordered a new set of running lights from VTS and some 6 inch flexible LED lights, I plan to fold them into a teardrop shape and place inside the lenses. should work great and last forever.

That was me Tyler, thanks! Have you put an ammeter on it? My old bulbs take 2 amps each, it will be great to decimate that number.

I thought it might have been you Cowcharge. Volts X Amps = watts
These are 2.5 watts so: Amps=2.5watts/12volts .2amps....1/10th of what you used before.... pretty good!

Are they brighter than the old bulbs? They must be.
I bookmarked the pages for when I get to that point.

My bulbs are white enough in their fixtures, but they don't really reach the corners of the camper.

So, how do those LED bulbs compare in brightness and color to the old 1156 bulbs when they're in the fixtures? I was reading up on them today, and what I read says that the old incandescent bulbs put out 450 lumens, while the LEDs are only 98...

mine are plenty bright, no doubt about it. every light is LED, even the license plate light if you will notice a lot of newer cars and 18 wheelers have went to LED as well as military vehicles.
