61 shasta awning support(above door)

hello folks,i was wondering if anyone has a picture of the awning support that goes above the door on my 1961 airflyte,,,there are a couple of small brackets above the rain flashing over the door,i guess it would be used to keep the awning up above the door so you wouldn't tear it when opening it or in case it sagged or came down..i always thought that it would some how use the hand grab because of the slot in it...any help would be great...thanks

Could you post a picture or two of the brackets? This would help to identify what there purpose may have been.
