Our door handle is missing on our 1962 Shasta Compact. In need of something, but do not require an origianl part. Any ideas on what would work? It is just a metal door (no screen door). Right now I am just using a latch screwed into the outside that I lock with a padlock. Any ideas on what I could order/use for an inside mounting/outside door handle scenario? Attachments:

The L-66 locks show up on eBay from time to time, new and used. The used ones are usually reasonable but the new ones are out of sight. You can also sometimes find them for sale here on the forum.
Good luck!

Whoa! I wish the Airflytes used those locks. That would have saved us a shiny penny.

The Airflyte project I am starting is missing its L66. I am not spending big bucks for an old one, so my plan is to convert it to the Compact handle and use the repop from VTS. I will need to make a plate to cover the original hole, but I think I can make it all work.

The Locking-L Door Handle from Vintage Trailer Supply is the piece you want. It's an exact match for the original Compact door handle. You will need to cut about an inch off the shaft, but it cuts easy.
