O.k., so while at the Buellton rally I found out that the Pismo rally 2013 is already sold out! WTF - how you you get notice of the opening day for RSVPs? 300 spots sold out in less than a week.

Anywhere else to stay? Maybe we could get some spaces blocked for us to late to register?

I know! I was stunned and soooo disappointed to hear it was sold out. I wanted to take Birdie there next spring!
Is there a waiting list to get on in case of cancellations?

I have a friend of a friend. Maybe there's some camping spots nearby. I'll ask...

Basically from what I understand, it's sold out before the notice even really goes out because everyone goes every year. Many people say that they stay near by and it's actually a little less crazy. You can get on a waiting list and hope for a cancellation.. My understanding is that this is how most people get in the first time.
I actually just went on and it is in fact TOO EARLY to make reservations for North Pismo state park.....but you can set a notification alert for when spaces for that date become available. It said to check after Nov 1.

We should try to coordinate our choice of sites. Birdie still wants to go to Pismo!

I've been 1/2 way down the first page of the wait list since day one, no cancellations. Apparently the shareholders have first dibs on many spaces and (of course) they are holding a shareholders meeting that weekend.
We'll probably ride the Harley up to check it out. Buellton will be our first official rally, I guess.

This is exactly how other rallies get started. There are lots of fantastic places to have a rally. And when everythng else is filled up, all you have to do is be willing to organize it and put it together. I like the smaller ones myself.
It would be funny if someone started a rally for the same time as the Pismo Rally at a nearby RV park and called it "Little Pismo" or "The OTHER Pismo" or something like that.

(and beer is always cold...) Im still going to check out the rally this weekend.....need ideas.... We could call mine the Paso-Pismo......
