Hey everyone-
I recently started working on the roof of my trailer. I have torn down all the ceiling panels on the inside, and have discovered that at one time or another, something heavy, probably a branch, hit the top of this trailer. there are a number of patched holes, done with aluminum, then screwed in, and then covered, and I mean covered, in aluminum roof gunk. TONS of it. enough to cause the aluminum to sag substantially. I'm in the process of trying to get this stuff off, so that I can then replace some broken roof supports inside. I started scraping this crap off, to find it pretty uneffective. I then got out the wire brush on my drill, which works better, but it actually seems to melt this stuff...gumming up the bruch, which doesn't help. So, I've turned to a heavy duty paint stripper to help this process along.
In scraping off some gunk, I caame across some pin holes in the metal. Now I'm wondering if I should just remove the roof skins and start fresh? I know Ican get teh skins, but I'm not familiar with a place locally that would supply them, which means that I'd have to ship them...Does anyone have an idea on cost for this?
I could patch the holes with aluminum, then recover the roof with something again.
Any input or ideas would be appreciated!
I'm learning that PO is synonymous with PO'd.

The place in Denver that is making my skin and roof charge 2.50 per sf. I ordered the side panels yesterday and once they are going on - I will order the roof. I have VERY little storage space.
I think these guys do ship but lucky for me, they are a 20 minute ride door to door.
