When I started this project, I knew I wanted to convert the 110volt lighting to 12 volt, it simply make more since (to me) in today's world. So, when I got to the electrical part of my rebuild/remodel I found a totaled class c motorhome and purchased the converter out of it (10 bucks!). That gave me the capabilities of using 12 volt lighting no matter if I'm hooked to shore power or on battery. I checked it all out, cleaned it up, tightened all the connections, gave it a paint job along with the new electrical panel and installed them in the upper part of the closet. I then ran low voltage wiring to the lighting locations, installed the lights and tied it all together. I really like this arrangement. I installed the modern 12volt lights you see in most units. I had considered converting what original lights I had to 12volt but I voted myself against it. I still have them and may do it at some later date. I installed one 110volt plug in the closet wall and rewired the one over the counter. I opted not to install an inverter at this time as I have a portable unit I can plug in if need be. As you can see in the picture, this is a little over the top on capabilities based on what my current plans are but it leaves me with some room for change/growth should I need it. Love this formum. Still can't make my pictures come up in the messages so here is the link. 1961shastacompactrestoration.shutterfly.com/pictures/105
