My wife and I made it to Fairy Stone State Park in Virgina over the weekend of the 6th. Ahhh.. the last days of summer found October still warm for the most part at the start of our trip, but Sunday brought clouds and a chilly rain. We both laid in the rack at 10 am SUnday morning and looked out of the rainy window.. "Wooo.. it sure is good to be in our camper and not rolling up wet gear" The park is a nice one as are most of the VA. state parks that I have visited. Some of the sites are close together so get there early as VA. state parks accept reservations, but sites are assign upon your arrival. The trail system in the park is somewhat small but you can spend a few hours hiking them. The lake is the big draw I would imagine during the summer months. We arrived on Friday morning, set up and hiked that afternoon, then watched the place fill up that evening. We had a nice 59 Scottie a couple of sites down from us so got to shoot the breeze with them a bit. Saturday was spent at a nearby vineyard. They had a couple of bands, a wine tasting, wine sales ect. ect. A Fall Festival gig. The weather was perfect. The people around us the best... Mmmm good time Happy camping everyone. www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/fai.shtmlstanburnwinery.com Attachments:

We are returning from an excellent few days at Fairy Stone State Park. If you have not been there you need to go!!!! It is a wonderful park. The camping sites are old and introduced and near together.

This park looks like it is a cool place to stay. It seems like it isn`t to far from where we live. We have a 1969 Shasta that we are fixing up. We just finished reskinning the outside. Hopefully soon we can start on the inside.
Thank you for the information.
