Look for a longer number on your tongue or a nomenclenture tag on the rear "driver" side behind the bumper. VIN should also be on the curb side stamped on the frame. So ours is M66S233603923. We have a "66" (M66), VIN is S23360, and the weight is 3923 (although I am sure it isn't that heavy, but that is what is supposed to represent. The "V" in yours represents where it was built Indiana, I think.

Hey Jamie,
Sorry for the delay. We just got back from a 5 day camping trip.
As for your VIN, V13322, you have a 1963 Shasta, born in Indiana. Do you have a Deluxe?
The only info that you can get from a Shasta VIN, is Where and When it was born. As far as I know, no plant ever used the prefix M in their VIN's and you can't tell the Model or Weight from the VIN, either....just the Where's and When's.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Ross! I don't know if its a delux. The PO said its an airflyte but he acquired it from a family friend and didn't really know a thing about it.

Vin ?

Interesting. I read several other posts & did my research when looking for the vin on my trailer (untitled). The vin on the tongue was welded over. Is it just coincidence that my '66 has M66 before the VIN I found? A few other posts on this website referred to that (on the CA nomenclature tag) would be the year manufactured. What does that long number represent on the nomenclature? The DMV ended up using the whole number because they didn't believe me the VIN could be so short.... whatever DMV, I got the title

I can see I wasn't clear on something. The VIN is the short number you listed. Not the M number. I was looking for info on my trailer & found info on this site referring to the other info. sorry for the confusion!!!

The California plants did have some strange VIN prefixes.
A: I only have four with the prefix A from '65-'77 and two stated that they were Pennsylvania built....not too sure about that.
CA: Van Nuys
ES, FS, GS, HS: Northridge
I just add the VIN's and the Model's to the database and very seldom do I change any of the years given to me. Except when it is obvious that the year is not matching up with others in that VIN sequence.
