Hello Everyone, I surfed every source I could find on here. Question: Where can I find black Butyl tape for my Windows and stuff? The off white looks fine used on my Water ports, small vents ect. But I don't think that I am going to like it used on my J-rails. I use some on to a small length when I was doing some rear window work.. It looks dirty, and look dirty quick. Now that I am in winter storage I want to tweak a few things and I have to do some frame work as well. Can the black stuff be purcahsed anywhere?

I have a question of your opinion! Too funny. As I went looking for a place to post it.. I found my previous ramblings. Any hoot! Snows blowing in the NC. and the deck re-build is on hold.. "game canceled until tomorrow." I covered up the lumber and fired up the stove in the garage. I finally put in my shiny new cot window "refurbish" in... So tapes! I so want to get away from the white (cream) gray.. what-ever we call it, Buty- tape and use black... I got a hold of some of the 3/4 stuff. This is my first run with it. It's not suppose to bleed and streak in the heat.. this is new school ;D But I don't know.. you guys and gals have lot more experience with it all. My big draw back on the white, cream and gray... It shows all the dust, dirt and my grime as soon as you put it on.. So honest opinion.. does the black look better? Or the the other stuff? My vent shot is in the pic for comparison.. Please dont say it's your girl.. do what you like.. What do you use?.. Why? Does the black look all wrong? Thanks again and have a Blessed Easter...... Attachments:

Why would anybody want to use black putty tape??? Maybe on a new rig, but not our vintage beauties. Never would a thunk... Thanks Soup.

I am going to ride on a few trip with the black around this cot window.. see how it makes me feel. I just think that it looks more squared away. I can always swap it out before my paint job this spring. I'll use the gray putty on the j rail for now. Spring.. ah, surley it's coming..
