We are taking off the wings for our renovation process and it has some strange screws. Any ideas on what they are or how to get them off?
Thanks!

If it looks like a recessed hour glass shape I'm pretty sure Vintage Trailer Supply sells the bit.

If it is in fact the recessed hourglass or bowtie look as i call them then you need a "clutch" bit to remove them. we replaced with 3" stainless steel screws with pre painted heads as our screws were rusted nearly through

Bo and I are working on a Frolic at present. It has 100`s of these bowtie screws. We finally managed to find a set of bits at our local Harbor Freight. Red box, about 5x9, label says "security bits", $9.95. Hope this helps.

Hmm, was hoping there was a way to get them off without the tool. I think with shipping from VTS will be about 7 dollars. Not bad, but delays my project a bit. Guess I should have checked! Thanks for the help everyone.

you can buy them from other places, i just searched google shopping and looks like ace hardware has a set for $1. Of course thats local to me so it might be different for your area. www.google.com/search?q=clutch+bit&oq=clutch+bit&aqs=chrome.0.57j0l3j62l2.1493&sugexp=chrome,mod=18&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=clutch+bit&hl=en&tbo=d&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&psj=1&ei=x7ijUNGwEvHV0gGQi4DIDQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAA&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=3e78e85a9d6ee708&bpcl=38626820&biw=1047&bih=788
