I am hoping to inconvince a member (Chris, Universal), I need pics of the entrance door header, esp the aluminum trim, is it the same as the threshold? Again mine was missing.
Thanks

Usually, the door trim at the top is just a right angle, longer on one side. It is the same as both side pieces and often a little different than the bottom. (bottom has an extra lip to prevent leakage) Attachments:

Here ya go, Schweet. This is the top corner on the latch side of the frame. I thought I had this taken the other day but couldn't find this view. So these are hot off the press this morning. The trim is about 1-5/8 inches wide. It does not cover the entire wood frame.

Hinge side. The lip over the siding is about 1/2 inch, where the lip of the side trim pieces are a little bit wider, about 5/8 or so. Attachments:

Sorry, I am at work and cant post any pics, but I am 99% sure mine is just like the one above, I recently replaced the wood above mine and that looks the same.
it seem to really have only one function and that was to hold the outer skin above the door to the frame.

Thanks Everyone, Chris it looks like there is a lip that hangs down into the door opening, any idea what the purpose of that is?

Is this a optical illusion? Is that the drip cap making it look like a lip? Thanks

Not the best photo I guess, this is another angle. The piece appears like a right angle bend on a flat sheet, with a doubling up of the outer edge over the siding.
