I am missing the crossrails for my trailer window. Not sure what the technical term is, but it's the horizontal track the notched piece slides in to open the window. Can this be replaced? Anyone have these? Attachments:

You can have them made by a sheet metal shop. That is what I did. I will take a picture of the old ones and the new. I think you have the same window as I do. Mine is from a 64' Airflyte. window size approx. 34"x14". Send me a PM so I dont forget.

Are you missing both pieces? Is it just the pieces in the window frame itself? The pieces in the main frame itself is a little complicated with a slide spring that keeps the notch arms steady and helps lock into place.

I know you probably don't want to spend the money and believe me I understand, but Vintagecampers.com has a few complete window units for sale on their parts store. You might also might get lucky and they might just have the bar, they've seem to have a lot parts from windows they parted out, I'd call them and check! Good luck!

The reason why these break is because where the notched arm is rubbing at the fastening point. It needs to be ground down where it is bolted. It needs to be a smooth radius. Take a close look at it and you will see why it is breaking.

Hey Lovn, if you could, would you post a couple photos of the process, or at least the finished product? I have the same problem I will have to address eventually.

Hey, it may not be pretty but if it works, it is lots better than the old and broken, right? I have one that is snapped and the lever is missing, and the other is about to break at the hings, and the second lever is broken off at about 3 inches. Not much to model from. Thank you for the photos. This really helps.
