Stopped by today to see if my new Shasta was pulled out of the pasture yet and to my surprise it was setting in the barn yard waiting for them to remove their personal property before I pick it up. They said that I could get it Friday if all went well, they have to go to Kansas to deliver 2 Dogs. Should be back Thursday to get it ready to be picked up. It is a 1967 1500 if I am not mistaken. I will post some pictures and a serial number after I get it home. With a little luck I will be using it in a year or two, needs some work but when it is finished it will look good behind my 41 Plymouth. ;D

It is home in the driveway I am going to try to link 21 pictures using image shack if it works mobiltec and others will see why black roof sealer is a great idea also these pictures will show who the Queen of caulk is. I am sure just a little furniture polish will make it just like new inside. imageshack.us/g/1/10133481/

The link worked fine.... You win the Goopiest Trailer Award... I should send this to Steve Loomis at Hemet Valley RV and let him know to expect another complete roof order. He's been getting a lot of those lately.

Mobiltec do you think there will be enough there to test my skills? To be honest with you it is bad but I think it can be saved, but I don't think I will be taking it camping next week end. I thought these picture could tell a story better than words. Did you catch the caulking covering most of the white vent on the left side I thought was almost as good as the roof.

There's a white vent on it? LOL.... Really I wouldn't even attempt to fix that. That's a new roof if I ever saw one. The seems on the roof are much different than the ones on the front and rear. They are locking seams, not S folds.

Yes I think a new roof and may be the left side. The rear and left frame work is gone also there is nothing holding the rear window in but the caulking and the entire left side rear corner is rotten, plus most of the ceiling beams. In the post above I wasn't talking about repairing the roof but the whole trailer.

Gone Kayaking If you looked at my 21 pictures I linked above you might be hearing from me over the next hundred years or so. My daughter says I have you get her Porsche out of winter storage and serviced before I can play with my trailer but she was gone today so what she don't know won't hurt her. I cleaned off the tongue and got the serial numbers so that I can try to get a title next week.

Welcome! At least you have no delusions about just a little elbow grease and it's ready to camp in! All we an say is what many of us (who now know better) have said over the past almost four years the forum has been around: Don't throw away anything until you KNOW you aren't going to need it as a template, an example, or anything else. Good luck on your project, and, yeah, replace that roof!

I started the process of obtaining a title today. I wish to make sure it is mine before I spend another dime on it. The PO never had a title they pulled it with a weight slip (not cool). Wish Me LUCK. Hopefully this will be a short, quick, easy process.

Thumbnail worked as did the larger photo.
I hate to point this out, but it looks as tho they had been storing this unit in the bottom of the river.....
You will have your work cut out for you, but it will be such a feeling of accomplishment every step of the way!

Chris this is what leaving one out in a pasture for 12 years with a roof coated with black goop will do for you. But if I am good enough and live long enough I will certainly have some bragging rights plus the boss and I can have fun with it. If I get it fixed then she can decorate and upholster it while I set back an watch . I do think this project would have been easier when my knees were 20 years younger and I was 100 lbs. lighter, but I have much more time to devote to it now so maybe that will make up for me being a little slower.

It is a great size and a great frame to start from, and I think you are going to enjoy the journey and the leisure time that follows. I seem to have the same schedule though, "If I live long enough"...8)
