I am getting close to installing my gas light over the table, do you use tape or any sealant when connecting the fittings? or just tighten them up?

Is the yellow teflon any different than the white stuff, Or does the color just differentiate it's application?

It's definitely thicker than the white stuff.

Gas breaks down the white tape over time.

If your fittings are "flare", do not use tape or sealants. The only fittings that need sealants are IP (pipe thread).

Thanks, luckily I new that you dont use teflon tape on flare (compression) fittings, my light, elbow and line had one of each type.
a tip, when putting on teflon tape if you put in on clockwise (the same direction you have to turn the fitting) the tape will not get caught and wad up or push out when you tighten the fitting.
