Hello,
Been reading this board for a couple of years and was spotted on I-5 today so I thought I would introduce myself. I have been camping for years, tent, camper, back to tent, then built a teardrop trailer in 1999 to tow with a 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline that I restored and go camping a little more comfortable. Went on many west coast trips and 2 cross country road trips that were spectacular. 2005 Roadtrip 2007 roadtrip
A couple years ago we had an opportunity to buy a 1963 Shasta Compact. It seems like a mansion compared to the teardrop. We enjoy both trailers for different events and travels.

You were spotted? Do we have spies out there looking for non-member Shasta owners?
Fellow WA State Shaster....

Hamlet's people are the spies. I nearly had whiplash craning my neck around so quickly. They were heading north and we were heading south. As soon as we got home, I posted my "Spied on I-5" message.

I remember the "spotted" post and hoped that this may be the end result, that we may all get to share in the whiplash....
It is really cool that you join us here, Jack, and welcome to the board! Glad to have you along.

Thank you all for the welcome. The friendlyness of this forum is habit forming. Kinda like the addiction to Shastas and other vintage trailers. I did my time doing the neck twist while I was looking for a larger trailer than the teardrop. I still do but it doesn't hurt as bad now. While on the way to the Columbia River Gorge area last Friday, I saw a white with a light green band painted vintage trailer, didn't recognize the make, heading north on I-5. On the way home to Tacoma, I saw the same trailer heading south. Funny how the vintage trailers stand out in the traffic. We are going to try to go to Roslyn in June. Not sure which trailer we will take, depends on the weather. The Shasta does have its advantages at times. Jack
