Well, we picked up a fixer-upper yesterday. I don't know what year or model it is but the body length is 10' and has the diagonal stripe that goes down the side. I finally found the VIN plate on the inside of the frame and reads "4T-5783". I'm pretty happy with it so far, all of the window cranks work, the jalousie glass is in excellent shape and the stove burners and oven are in super order. This is my first post so I'll try to get a picture of the "new" find.
I've built a couple of teardrop campers from scratch and currently have a Widget "standy" in the garage we built about 3 years ago that we use alot. We've been talking about rebuilding an old camper.......... well, here we go!!!!!!

Sounds like a mid-late 60's Compact, but not sure about that VIN. Doesn't sound like the typical Shasta. Whatever it is, welcome and congrats. Oh, and please post pictures!

Hi Jeff, I remember you from Minden in 2007. You will have fun with your rebuild and then using the Shasta. We got our Shasta a couple years ago and have slept in it at least once a month, even in the backyard in the winter. We still use the teardrop at times also. Kinda nice having a choice of what trailer to take although we have been accused of "going over to the dark side" by our teardrop friends. Jack
