The Shasta’s triumphant return to the great outdoor. She pulled into the garage on July 26 2012 and has now finally returned to her proper place. New rims go on tomorrow and then to paint Thursday…psyched!!

That looks really good. Are you going to leave it outside, or does it get to live in the garage?

Bob, She will likely winter in the garage. Schweet, I’m looking forward to pulling her to the tire dude tomorrow. It’s nice to have my garage back! Lopo, this is were I came from. fugly is the word that comes to mind. lol She has all new metal now…just the wrong color. Thanks all…not done yet, but not long now…I have an old pooch that likes to camp so I need to finish up and hit the road.

Ah. The new metal explains it. She's come a LONG way! Congrats, for that is no small task.

Congrats Smccusk. It's great to see the light at the end of the tunnel isn't it?

Congrats Smccusk. It's great to see the light at the end of the tunnel isn't it? Yah, it certainly is. I towed it to my friends body shop today... at just about every stop light someone commented on the trailer or gave me the tubs up. You don't see to many restored Shasta's in these parts and I think that was part of the appeal of doing this project. Paint will be done Monday and then another week of buttoning up loose ends and I will call her done for this year. I already have work planned for next winter but for now she will be very usable.

We know the new metal comes pre-primed. Are you having that painted as well? We didn't with Hamlet since it's so close to the original white. Can't wait to see pics. She's gorgeous!

Hamlet, I believe the panels and roof are actually powder coated polar white. I decided to use the white for the upper color and the roof however, because the two small panels in the rear are still yellow along with the awning, rail and j-rail I’m going to repaint the sides and back so it all matches. I’m fortunate as far as the painter. He’s a friend of mine who is giving the trailer special consideration…funny when I dropped it off the other day the whole shop stopped to come over and check it out. Can’t wait to see it (understatement).
