Hello everyone, I'm one of the folks who's Member Introduction was lost to some of the computer changes that have occurred since the upgrade in the Vintage Shasta Trailer Forum. So, I'm reintroducing myself.
I bought my first Vintage trailer on May 4th. I thought I bought a 1966 Shasta Compact but after several Forum Members here saw my pics and I found the real VIN number and compared it to the database it's with some certainty that we believe I have a 1969 Shasta Compact, the VIN was P 147XX. At this point I don't think I have the fortitude to approach DMV to make the correction, maybe in January or February when I'm really really bored and don't have anything else to do.
I live right outside Richmond, VA. Looking thru some of the posts here on the website I've found a couple other folks from Virgina, if you are too, drop me a PM. All the messages and pictures here on the Forum are great, but sometimes it would be nice to see what others have done with their trailers in person.
I've somewhat started the restoration on my Shasta, oh, we've given the trailer a name, I know, I know, corney but what the heck, I'm too old to care what anyone thinks at this point in my life. We call her 'Shasta', very original don't you think? Anyway, with the restoration I started a Thread on the Shasta Owner's Restoration Board, it's called "1969 Shasta Compact" (another original name), the link to it is vintageshasta.proboards.com/thread/9149/1969-shasta-compact Stop by and check out the progress, or lack thereof, as the case may be.
If you look down at the bottom of my posts you'll see the PhotoBucket link I have to more pictures, but here it is the link too: s1365.photobucket.com/user/dchensleyj/library/?sort=6&page=1
I hope you are having as much fun with your Shasta as I am.
Regards,
Doug
