I am looking for the wiring diagram for a 1964 Shasta Astroflyte Also I have what looks like a big ground cable laying near the electrical box.. if is not hooked up to anything but does go through floor to the frame.. is this the body ground and where does it go?
I have tried all lights and cant get anything to work. It is like there is no ground. I think the lights ground to the shell... where does the shell or ski ground too.. That might be the problem..

There are three wiring systems in a vintage trailer: 110 and 12 volt inside the trailer and one for the 12 volt tow wiring exterior lighting.
If you are trying to test the 12 volt ceiling light, you need to be connected to the tow vehicle. Normally, the Tail Markers have to be on (parking lights) for the light to work.
You also may need a battery to operate the lights. The ground obviously goes to negative, there should be a hot for the 12 volt light or system (if existing)
Usually, there is an inlet on the side of the trailer for the 110 system. It looks like a pronged plug in an inset... If you attach an extension cord to a house plug, your 110 system should work.
Please be careful. I have not seen nor inspected your trailer and am just making educated guesses here. If you don't feel safe trying the above, consult an electrician.
