well I bought some solid core luan flooring, (no MDF) but am unsure which side should face up. the guy at the store said the reddish side goes up,
it is whitish on one side you can see wood grain, and knotholes (all filled and smoothed),
both sides seem to be about the same smoothness. the white side might be a bit smoother, hard to tell.
the other side is redish, no visible wood grain but looks the same all over, what do you think?
