My hubby and I are taking a five day trip in the 1970 Tag A Long for our 10th anniversary this week. We'd like to head down to the coast here in Texas. Anybody have suggestions for good campgrounds down there?

Goose Island State park, with trailer sites right on the water. Home of the 'largest Live Oak' in Texas, so they say. bring a little sail boat if you have one. You're gonna have to like BBQ if you go out to eat, but who of us Texans don't like brisket, eh? And bring you're own good beer or you'll have to stomach 'cheap, flat, flavorless lites'... will you be driving through Shiner? Problem solved. Seriously, It's a beautiful, quiet place, abundent firewood (well 12 years ago) and camp dosents with smiles stretched from ear to ear... just saying.

We love Dellanera RV Park. Have been going there since the '80's every Memorial Day and Labor Day. Now that the kids have kids of their own, and RV's to haul around them, it's become a big extended family thing. www.galveston.com/dellanera/
