Hi Everyone! I've been doing a lot of looking for a vintage Shasta as of late but really had no where for a good source of information until I found this forum. I'm really excited to get some help and assistance to find the right shasta for myself and my wife. Hopefully I'll learn the lingo quickly so I don't sound like so much of a Noob . I currently live in Los Angeles but our dream is to buy a trailer and travel for a couple of months while we're out photographing Weddings one summer. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Thanks! I just read the Admins post about the forum being migrated to Vintage Trailer talk. Should I start working over there before I start with this or do you know what will be happening with that or is everyone planning to stay here?

Thanks! I just read the Admins post about the forum being migrated to Vintage Trailer talk. Should I start working over there before I start with this or do you know what will be happening with that or is everyone planning to stay here? That's a subject of contention right now. Obviously you can do what you want and so can everyone else, but there are more members here who post on a daily basis and you'll probably get more info here. Some members including myself will not go over and some will.

I looked at the other forum and It only had one, not very defined section for Shasta's so I think I'll stay as long as possible. I've already gotten some responses from people and and quickly learning about the different models and pricing, next I'll start learning about what it will take to fix one up and when I should pay $5k versus $2k

Figure it can't hurt to have as many sources of information, help, and humor as possible...The other forum is under construction, and this one ain't going anywhere...put your feet up and be comfortable!

Welcome to the forum. It wouldn`t hurt to be a member of both forums. This forum does have the most members and therefore more information available than the other, which is still been built. The owner here has only checked in a couple of times in the past 18 months and considering his obvious lack of interest, I`m afraid he may just close this one down one day. So I joined the other forum and I visit there often as do other members of this forum. The owner of the other forum is vikx who is also our only staff (admin)member on this forum.

Welcome to another Californian....even if you are an Angeleno! Make sure to be in touch with Mobil tec...he's a canned ham magnet and will be a good source of info for you. If you interested in something that isn't a shasta but is a very neat trailer that a friend of mine restored and has for sale. fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/993025_556144897760450_2005030594_n.jpg this is on the vintage camper trailers site on facebook.

Excited to be here and thanks for the tips! That camper looks nice and apparently I have to find the vintage campers facebook page now! I think my wife is pretty partial to the wings on the shasta's but you never know. I'm trying to get my bearings down with all the info on here so I'll know what I should expect to get for my $$
