Creating A Year, VIN# and Model Database

My VIN is C9194. We think it is a 57 1500, but not completely sure. If not, please let me know what you think it is.

Hey Marty,

It is not posted here. I am simply collecting the VIN's and Models in a Database in which to help others identify the correct year of their Shasta. Quite a few Shasta's have had titles with the incorrect year.

But Ross at some point couldn't you upload your database to a google doc and post the link here so that anyone could view it. You can set it on view only so that no one can make changes. That way anyone can figure out what they have without having to have you go and look it up.

We just bought a 1957 Shasta 1500 the VIN on the title is C8402

I have thought about making the Database open to everyone, but then decided not to. Because if others could look up the VIN's, then no one would give me their info to add to the Database. Hope this makes sense. I don't mind adding in the info and post the findings that I have.

Thanks divalori, I got you logged in. Based on the other VIN's it appears that you really have a 71'. It was probably built in 71' and was sold in 72', hence your titled year.

My Dad just got a Shasta 1400. He does nto have the title yet, but he says the VIN # is S6703. Thinking between 1969 and 1972. Can you help with the year until he gets the title?

I've seen both curved and square body stiles in the Compacts for '64. Mine could either be a late 64 or early 65. Maybe it depended on the location of the manufacturer? Wish we could get a hold of some retired Shasta employees or execs who could answer a few questions like that.

Hey Paul, You have a 64' Shasta. What model do you have? If you are unsure, please post a picture and give me the total length of your Shasta (from bumper to tongue) and we can figure out what you have.

Ross, Thank you for the info. I am pretty sure my Shasta's an Airflyte. She spent a portion of her life as a concession, and then another owner turned her back into a basic camper. My wife and I are going to try and return her to her former glory (if we can). Thanks again for the help. I'm sure I will be spending a lot of time on here in the future. ( I will post a picture when I can.
