The brick chimney is not part of the trailer. Looks much more like a late 60s vs early 60s

I am wondering if you could help me pinpoint the year of my 15' Shasta. It was sold as a 1951, but I was informed on this site that is likely younger by a few years. Ross, could you help me try to figure this out?
The VIN is SNTR00125733MT
Here is a link to a few photos

Thanks for any help you can give!

cf129,
Do you have additional pics of the Shasta pictured above?

Looking at your pictures from your link, I would say that you have a Shasta 1500. However, the Vin# that you have is not an original Shasta Vin. It looks like this was given by DMV for a new title, sometime back. Look on the tongue for the original Vin#. It should begin with a "C" and only be 4 digits long....starting with the number "3". The earliest Vin# I have for Van Nuys, California is C3*** and it is a 1500 born in 1954. Hope this helps, Ross

Hi Ross, I am so excited - we found the original VIN printed on the side of the tounge, not the one I had given that was stamped in the top. It had been painted over and was difficult to see. It is C1855. Would you see what you can find in regard to the year it was born? Again, we were told it is a 51, but have since been told that is not possible. Oh, I also uploaded more photos to the photobucket website link above. Thanks again for the help.

Congratulations!!!! Your Shasta's vin# is the earliest onr that I have for the Van Nuys plant. I am a bit embarrassed that I don't know when the first Shasta rolled off the line........
Hopefully someone will chime in and let me know when the first Shasta's were born in Van Nuys, California.

Thanks so much Ross! I hope to hear more from other members about when they began making the Shastas in Van Nuys.

I found the VIN plate welded to the inside of the frame of my Compact. It reads, I believe, 4T-5783. The Shasta plate near the door says it was built in Texas so I'm guessing this is a '64 model??

I would like to add to your Year, VIN Number and Model to the database. 1958 #C9975 Airflyte 16' Hubby found this original registration in the cupboard when we were inspecting the trailer to purchase:

I'm not sure of the year of my Shasta Compact but I think it's 1965. I'm just now locating the Vin# and attempting to clean it up and be sure I have it right. I think it's P8181 or possibly P6181. Any help?

Jeff Okay, I got some paint remover and got down to the metal and found the curbside VIN number and it reads T-5783. There's no 4 before this one like the tag on the inside of the frame reads. I'm getting a couple of people that are telling me mine is a '65 or a late '64........ Jeff
