I took a piece of conduit and covered the bottom with a bit of screen and then used silver tape to wrap the bottom so that I could easily see it under the camper to check for water flow.

Next a 5x9 inch hole was cut out of the floor and I trimmed it out with bug screen.

Now a hood was built over the hole to direct the heat from the back of the unit through the floor.

For lack of another word, "Wing boxes" were built on the sides, so that preconditioned air could be sucked into the side vents on the AC.

Next we covered the whole top of the AC and "wing boxes", tightly with a piece of board, and installed the bed facing around the AC.

Next we built the dinette up front and made cushions from left over fabric and vinyl from a previous restore. I made the cushions reversable. Red fabric and white vinyl. I hadn`t got the back cushions finished when this picture was taken.

I took a full size mattress and opened up one side, using a pair of cutters, I snipped off one row of springs and then hand sewed the side back up. It turned out the perfect size for a 3/4 bed.

We also built a floor to ceiling clothes closet opposite the kitchen and a scalloped shelf over the bed on the rear wall. We used this camper once after we stripped and painted the exterior all white. All was well on the trip out so I answered a want ad on Craigslist and sold it to a forum member (becinala).

As seen in the pictures in the beginning of this thread, the exterior skin on this one had really been abused, We managed to straighten a lot of it out with a rubber mallet etc but the very bottom was in a sorry state so we disguised it with diamond plate which actually gave it a bit of "BLING" lol.

To BoandSusan:
Thank you. I really was not too sure which this one was at first. However, this is one of those that really really needs a home here. The creativity and the imagination and the tweaks...all need to be seen as one of the many possibilities for these old gals....Thank you for taking the time to make the changeover for the photos...this one HAS to be here.

Thank you Chris. I`m hoping other members who have lost all the pics in their restore threads will follow suit and just delete the old thread and build another one. New members need these threads to stay motivated. I know I did when we started

Glad to see this back up! I was lucky enough to see this one in person, and it just glows. And so do the owners, great people!
