1964 Shasta Compact V15493
Thanks for doing this Ross. I'll be interested in where my VIN lands in the year. My compact is the canned ham style but 64 is when they changed the design to the boxy style.

You defiantly have a 64'. Being that your Shasta is one out of only four 1964's, it's had to tell if yours was in the beginning of the production year or the the end.
I sent you a PM with the other VIN's.

I don't think mine is a '74. The pics of all the '74s I have seen have had two different colors in their stripes, like brown above red. The only ones I've seen with the two-tone orange on mine have been '75s and '76s (assuming the people posting the pics knew for sure what year they had, of course). Some '76s and 77s had a different stripe shape, where one stripe curved into the other. Maybe because '76 was when Coachman bought Shasta, some '76s were the old two parallel stripes and some were the swoopy stripes... But I think you're right about it being a 2250, not a LoFlyte. I found a list of '76 models and they didn't have any named models. I still haven't found any pics that show the same floor plan as mine. God what a confusing mess.

I found that my is a 1976 look in th cabinet above the sink that is where I found my model number, the model date and the serial number. I am buying it off a family member and they do not have the title. The tongue is rusted and can not find the vin number on it. My camper is white with two stripes on it that is one looks like yellow orange on top and orange on the bottom. I what to restore it but need info on it, like a blue print and the specs on the wiring.

srgbby,
Wiring blueprints are a rarity and if you do find one, it probably won't be of any use to you, for your model. Do you have any pictures of your Shasta?

We have a 1964 Airflyte Vin #2821. The weld is in the way of the letter--We know it was made in Pennsylvania. So is it a P?

Ross,
I have the following information:
Year 1959
VIN C1205182
Model Airflyte
PO removed the manufacture plate, Van Nuys, CA, which I have in my possession and the large script "Shasta Trailers" emblem.
Am not certain, but original color could have been the "sea-foam" green/blue~ ~ ~

Thanks Red Beard. Double check your VIN. Starting in the mid 50's through the first quarter of 1960, the Van Nuys plant started adding the letter B and one number after the first set of five numbers in the VIN's.
Your VIN should read: C12051B2
Thanks aging for your Shasta's info.

Ross,
Took a careful look for the VIN ~ ~ but a PO has added a "Stamped A-Frame Coupler", that has cover the hand-stamped VIN, However, the welded-in-place plate on the inside of the "C" channel frame, street-side, has "12051". Re-checked the Texas Blue Title, and the VIN is definitely "C1205182" ~ ~
But who knows, after 50+ years, countless owners and/or some wing-nut of a "bureaucrat", the "8" could have once been a "B"~ ~ ~ but I do know about the "12051" digits ~ ~ ~
The Forum was a large help explaining where to look for the VIN ~ ~
Next time, I'll look underneath the sink, and check for any identifying marks/numbers/words, etc, that may still be visible~ ~ ~

I just today picked up a Loflyte that the owner told me was a 1967; VIN # is S 8345. Dave

Thanks Dave. Your VIN is showing up as a mid to late 1971 Loflyte.
In 1967 the VIN's started out with S3 and S4.
Usually VIN's were given to the trailer frames as the next Models were getting ready to be built. The process from start to finish was less than 3 weeks. This is based on info that was told to me a few years back.

I posted the info on the introduction but here it is again. 67 Compact, 13', W2993 (nos on tounge). My question is what hapened to all the Washington trailers? I looked through several pages and did not see any Ws. Thanks for the work by the way.

Thanks desertman. I only have 5 VIN's from Washington State. Based on what I have and not knowing when the Washington plant started operations, you could have a 1966 or possible a 1965. Until I get more VIN's from Washington, this is the best I can do.
Unknown W2515 Super 19' ? W2993 Compact 1966 W3550 Loflyte 1967 W4573 Loflyte 1968 W4695 Loflyte

I was told by the PO that it was a 66, but the title says 67. There is a Oregon Trailer or Camper inspection tag on it that I may be able to track for a date. I just contacted Battle Ground and they are going to research the data for me.

snttrailer, you do have a 1955 Shasta, based on the VIN# that you gave. However, I haven't heard of a CCH model. If you could post a few pictures of your Shasta, maybe we could help figure out what you have.

Based on the VIN# P17564, it is a 1971. The VIN may have been issued to the frame in late December of 1970, but the Compact wasn't completed until probable late January to late February of '71.
Again, this is only based on the VIN's that I have logged into the Database.
