I just looked at a loflyte and wondering the year the stamp showed P13955. Haven't decided on buying as it needs LOTS of work.

Sorry, lovnvintage, I completely over looked your VIN. It is a 1968 Loflyte.

Thank you, 65callie. Your 18' Super was missing the F in the VIN. Are you sure that you have an 18' and not the 19' Super?
And I have your Compact as a 62'.

Finally tracked down my VIN: V18244 Goshen, Indiana on the ID placard. Titled as a "1965 Shasta - Model Unknown" - although I know it's a 16-SC and hope I can get it corrected when I take the title in.

Well, we'd like to provide you with #301, but what appears to be Hamlet's VIN is pretty much unintelligible. Definitely from Indiana, then I think the first number is a 1, then there are either three or four more numbers. We bought Hamlet as a "59" (knowing that the first model year was '60), but think he might be a 61. The mirror was missing and we haven't found a date on the underside of the sink. Ross, what are some of the VINs you have for canned-ham style Compacts built in Goshen? It doesn't really matter what year he is, it'd just be fun to know.

Can you PM or email me a few pictures of the VIN on Hamlet? Take a few pictures at different angles and a light source to create shadows around the VIN. Sometimes that helps with reading the numbers.

That is where I got the idea and I wanted to keep it growing. The list that Beverly started went stale at the the time I decided to run with it here, on VSTF.
That database has only 129 VIN's and because of the great people here, I now have over 300 VIN's.
I knew that this is a more active site and the best place to help preserve and record such data, as with the VIN's and Models of Shasta's.

Just bought ours. The seller said it was a 1959 but the tile says 1965 and the vin# 1984 airflyte. He said the 59 was the last year for the wooden screen door???!!!! I don't know what, and to register it they will go by the title given to me. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jan

Hey Jannie, You do have 59' Airflyte.
As for correcting the year on the title, from what I have read here on VSTF, they suggest that you first get the title into your name and then change the year.
