Geez how old is this thread and it just hit 5 pages(120) posts 4 days and about 10hrs ? Imagine once we have the glamping section for real. I`m sure most folks are waiting for the real deal before they start posting.

I saw in one photo from a rally they had a full-size bear claw enamel bath tub. Where do people put all this stuff to be towed?
When and if I get a trailer some day, I would love to have it in a vintage Disneyland theme. Yeah, I'm a Disnerd.

Sorry, Hamlet, maybe this post will make 6 pages...but I did notice the forum will be under construction gor a month? what the heck will I do? ?? Im goin thru withdrawls already and panicking...seriously...in the middle of my restore and a month is a third of my trailer's life! Awww, Okay I'd better suck up info quick...Just hooked on the site and the folks are awesome...heehee Glamping Glamping..glamping...jus sayin....

mobiltec, will they be at the Pismo rally next month do you know? ... Bob and Cindy Ross are the Wagon Masters for the Pismo Rally. They put it on. But you are not going to believe what they are going to be "Glamping" in this time. I can't ruin it for Cindy so you will just have to go in order to find out or wait till the Rally Photos come out. Believe me this is nothing like anything they have ever brought to the rally before.

I LOVE this thread! Mobiltec, I understand completely about your dog. We've lost a few over the years to old age/sickness and it is always so hard. We have a very old dog and 4 cats right now, and the cats just keep showing up. My daughter has 3 with her at Texas A&M right now, and I wonder where they're going to go when she comes home for the summer. I'll bet I can guess.

Please please post lots of Pismo pictures. I was planning to fly out there, but hubby fell down the stairs and messed up his ankle so bad he had to have surgery, so no Pismo this year. (No, I didn't push him - he fell on his on accord

"Charles Manson actually spent quite a few hot afternoons sitting in this trailer drinking beers with the owner while his girls ran around picking the pockets of the miners in the then populated ghost town of Ballarat. ....."
Interesting history,(to say the least,) on your trailer mobiltec. If you haven't already discovered it, you would probably be interested in (..."you may enjoy.." just doesn't seem appropriate in this case for some reason...) Bob Murphy's book "Desert Shadows". It's the story of the Manson family's time in and around Death Valley, from sometime before Tate-La Bianca to Barker Ranch, written by one of the NPS Rangers involved in the investigations of their many shenanigans there, and their eventual capture. I bought it in the Death Valley gift shop and my wife & I both read it while we were visiting the park last year. Very chilling & completely fascinating book. Amazon and others have it.
"When the Death Valley community realized the extent of the Manson family's activities, the fear engendered was more penetrating than the deepest chill of the desert night".
I've got a a real soft spot for Westerners, skeevy history or not....
Sorry for hijacking the thread......

But don't believe everything (anything actually) you read or hear from NPS rangers. They take a heck of a lot of credit for doing absolutely nothing at all. I personally know everyone involved in the case and the capture. I have friends with photographs that they took themselves when the family was taken into custody at the ranch. The NPS was no where around when it happened.

I did take a lot of what I read with a grain, as least as far NPS involvement (I had read comments similar to yours before I read the book), but it was an intriguing read none the less. And I figured that if one even knew where Ballarat was , they'd be familiar with the tales... Mark

I love that whole area and if I have my way, will be moving back up there. I lived in the trailer park just up the street from the power station and big rock at Morro Bay for a month. And I was in the 15 foot 54 Westerner when I did it. I was doing a job in Cambria so my commute was up and down the coast every day. Everyone in the park had a huge, expensive motorhome or trailer. Then right in the middle was little old me and my dog. Now that was Glamping for me. While I was up there I found this 50s Airfloat for sale and hooked someone in Washington up with the owner. He and his daughter came down and picked it up and it's being completely restored now. This was up in the hills near Paso Robles.

That is a hilareous story about your lil old trailer among the huge ones. Its funny cause that is one of the reasons I sought out a Shasta-we have great places to camp here and I can easily do a 2-3 hour drive to get to an amazing place. It is funny all of the huge diesel pushers, etc. that are around here. That airfloat is awesome!~Wish I had the ability to tow something that huge, Id prob. kill someone. And.....I think Glamping is in the eye of the beholder! Hope you can make your way back at some point. It such a cool area. Did you ever go to the Morro Bay Harbor Festival?> Great beer and wine tasting.

I think Morro Bay would be my choice of all the towns on the central coast.

Ha ha...I actually accidentally highlighted YOU highlighting ME!( Negative star now) ha ha..but I get the concept....and back to Glamping I have so many things I have bought for the glamping 'finishes" for my trailer.....but I really do want to keep it as ORIGINAL as possible while adding some fun touches...I think Glampers start with the tail wagging the dog!
